The Rev. Jacob Mueller of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, Mo., carries the former steeple cross of St. John's Lutheran Church as crucifer before worship on Sunday, August 9, 2015, during a "Day of Thanksgiving and Rededication" at the church in New Minden, Ill. Nearly two years ago, a tornado damaged the church and surrounding homes, and toppled the cross, which was later placed next to the rededicated altar. A new steeple cross now adorns the church.
